GNWT-DOT - MV2007L8-0033

The Kakisa River Bridge  is located at KM 169.8 on the Mackenzie Highway. A new Bridge, offset about 12.3m South of the existing bridge is proposed to be constructed between March 18th and October 10th, 2008. Approaches to the bridge will be modified to conform to the new alignment. The old bridge will be decommissioned after the new bridge in opened in the Fall of 2008. The bridge will be dismatled in two phases. The superstructure of the old bridge will be removed in the Fall of 2008. The support columns will be removed in the winter of 2009 or possibly the summer of 2009.
